That means it technically mixes with all of the electricity not created using sustainable sources. So, how can we prove that you’re using 100% solar in your home?
It’s all thanks to the SREC, also known as the Solar Renewable Energy Certificate. Each SREC is equal to 1,000 kWh (or 1MW) of electricity created exclusively from solar sources. Every time we generate that much electricity and send it to the electricity grid, Chariot Energy purchases 1 SREC. It’s how we can prove that the electricity you eventually use in your home was created using solar energy.
